Harlequin Romance, August, 2000

Patrick O'Shaunnessy is the only man who can help Shelby Beaufort unravel her past. But he's too busy trying to run his investigative business and care for his mischievous little daughter, Mollie. So Shelby comes up with the crazy solution of a temporary marriage -- she will take care of Mollie while Patrick works for her! Shelby soon realizes that what's most important to her is being Mollie's mother -- and Patrick's wife -- and not just on paper!

Reviews:

This No. 1 author has written a delightful story which, along with the first book, adds up to 100% entertainment. Ms. McMahon has again given her readers a strong heroine, a gorgeous hero, added an adorable little girl, and wrapped them all in a tender romance. Excellent as usual. I eagerly await Book 3 in this series!
Rendezvous

From the first page Shelby's and Patrick's attraction sizzles and charms. ...a heart-warming story full of humor and emotion.
4 1/2 Hearts--Romance World

A MOTHER FOR MOLLIE, the delightful second book in Barbara McMahon's Beaufort Brides trilogy, is a well-crafted, up-to-date marriage of convenience story. Characterization is multidimensional and Shelby and Patrick's relationship incorporates both sizzling sexual tension and humor as each tries to downplay their mutual attraction and abide by the rules of their agreement. Young Mollie is a charming secondary character whose presence never detracts from or overshadows the love story itself. And, expertly woven throughout the romance is the ongoing story of a daughter's search for her long-missing father (which will be resolved in Georgia's Groom , the third installment of this trilogy coming in September!) Highly recommended!
Reader to Reader

You must read this fast paced, fun, engaging story--to see if the marriage becomes more than convenient and Mollie keeps a mother. The Beaufort Brides is a delightful, warm romantic series that celebrates family, and the power of love.
