Reviews:

A historical romance with a difference, Banished, is set in England, during the war with Napoleon. There are plots within plots, complications tangled with complications, and lies, treachery, and danger lurking in the most unexpected places. This was a marvelous read. The hero was dark and brooding, the heroine was no wimpy Jane Eyre, and the author did a great job of integrating her research into work. If historical romance is your love--and even if it isn't--you will want to grab Banished at the first opportunity. Great writing, Ms. McMahon.

Highly Recommended! Under the Covers Book Reviews

Banished is a phenomenal Regency romance that fans of the sub-genre will relish for years to come. The lead characters are fun as he is a brooding hero and she is an intrepid heroine. The secondary players add dimension to an entertaining story line filled with love.

Harriet Klausner, Painted Rock Reviews

From the very first page you'll be drawn into the intrigue and mystery of a dark, magnetic hero and a daring, gutsy heroine. These compelling characters are the main threads of an intricately woven plot. Banished is filled with dark secrets and danger lurking at every twist and turn; making for an awesome, excitingly dangerous novel.

Banished marks the arrival of a new breed of romance novel from best selling, award winning, author Barbara McMahon. Not only is it her first historical but also her first electronically published book.

Banished is a wonderful and memorable read. A genuine keeper.
