A historical romance with a difference, Banished, is set in England, during the war with
Napoleon. There are plots within plots, complications tangled with complications, and
lies, treachery, and danger lurking in the most unexpected places. This was a marvelous read. The hero
was dark and brooding, the heroine was no wimpy Jane Eyre, and the author did a great job of integrating her
research into work. If historical romance is your love--and even if it isn't--you will want to grab Banished
at the first opportunity. Great writing, Ms. McMahon. |
